I attended a dinner-discussion kinda thing about the new Nokia N-gage last night.

Keith Liu, the head of Games and Internet Experiences in Asia Pacific was there to brief us on what’s new and what’s great about the gaming platform.

He even showed us some future N-gage games like Brothers in Arms, Reset Generation and Crash Bandicoot… not forgetting the one which was just launched hours before the dinner, Snakes Subsonic.

We then got to try out the new games on the N95 8gb, N81, N78 and the great N96.

Here are 2 videos of me trying out the games.

Dirk Digger.

If you are using N95, N95 8gb, N82, N81, N81 8gb, head on to http://www.n-gage.com to download the latest N-gage application and then download the games, and then add me in your friends list so we can BATTLE! lol

My freind Ben just got himself a black N82 (woot!) and it’s his first Symbian phone.

He then asked me what are the essential apps to have on an Nseries…

Well, here are the 5 ‘must have’ apps for me. (might work for u too lol)

1.
Yes I know the S60 built in browser now can view flash videos like Youtube… but it’s a lot easier if u can just skip all the browser opening, url typing and video searching. Mobitubia is very simple to use. Lists out the popular videos, featured videos and you can search for videos too.

Get it HERE.

2.
I love to chat on MSN and thanks to Mig33, I can chat all I want.. anytime anywhere! I’ve tried a lot of MSN clients and I think this is the best one for me.

Get it HERE or you can point your phone browser to http://wap.mig33.com

3.
Who doesnt love widgets? haha… Widsets allows us to install widgets of all kinds into our lil multimedia computers…(eg:wikipedia, weather, blogs, flickr etc). Search thru the library of widgets and pick them and wallah! They appear on your phone screen!(of course u need a data connection to do this)

Get it HERE.

4.
The built in browser is good, but there ARE some things that it cannot do. Therefore it’s better to have another browser and the best browser for mobile now happens to be Opera.

Get it HERE.

5.
I love Twitter and this is the mobile app for it. It’s called Twibble. With it you can send twitters, direct message your Twitter friends, reply messages and more.

Get it dtsv.dtse_post_70_permalink = 'http://symbian.smashpop.net/5-essential-apps-for-nseries'; dtsv.dtse_post_70_title = '5 essential apps for Nseries'; Follow me on Twitter for more updates! View my personal blog too!

Many have bought the Nokia N82 and some of them are frustrated because they lost a key.

What key?

The Pencil key. lol

Well, u may have noticed that in all of Nokia Nseries before the N82, there is a pencil key.

This pencil key allows you to copy and paste text just like how you do in your PC. Just press and hold for 2 seconds and you will see the word ‘copy’ or ‘paste’ on the bottom of the screen. Just highlight the text you need and continue with the respective operations.

… but starting from N82 onwards… they will be no Pencil key anymore. Instead, it has been replaced with the hash(#) key.

It works the same. Try it.

Finally! N82 latest firmware is out!
The latest version is V20.0.0.62.

I have just updated my N82.

The new update includes:
1. Built in Flash Lite 3 in the browser, so you can view flash files like Youtube.

Clicking the video will open a full screen player.

2. Geotagging feature is now built into the camera function allowing you to switch on GPS and geotag photos that you take.

Does this mean you have to wait for the GPS to lock onto the satellites before you take a photo? hehe

3. More stable software and some bug fixes.

4. Web runtime (widgets)

2 days ago, Nokia announced the new N82 in stylish black… which is estimated to ship within weeks and will cost about 400euro before taxes and subsidies.

The N82 in black might come with the new firmware too, which fixes most of the known bugs on the silver N82.

This jet black multimedia computer enables people to “geotag” the images they capture – allowing them to not only be saved by date, but by location as well. This adds to a line-up of compelling photography features, including a 5 megapixel camera, Carl Zeiss optics and a Xenon flash. Not only does the Nokia N82 take great pictures, array of advanced connectivity features makes it easy for consumers to share their discoveries, journeys and locations.

So anyone waiting to buy this? :D
