SymbianpOp Sharing fun stuff about Symbian
Categories: Events, Videos

The summit started at 8am yesterday at Grimaldi Forum, Monaco. An event for the developers to know more about what Nokia is doing with apps and the OVI store.

The opening of the keynote was hosted by the Head of Forum Nokia, Mr. Rob Taylor.

He explains about cross platform development environments, runtime and tools like S40, S60 and Maemo. Flash and Java developers were advised to use Qt as it reduces production cost. He also briefly discussed on what devices developers should target when builing aplications. More about this in the video below.

These are the different platforms that are working with Forum Nokia now.

Check out this video of the keynote.

Forum Nokia has reccently released a full touch driven painting application for S60v5 (in this case, the 5800) and it serves the purpose of demonstrating the capability of touch painting but since its a fully functional one, we can actually download and install and use it without any problems.

I’ve actually tried it as you can see in the above screenshot, it has some basic options like pencil thickness, colour, undo, clear screen and has some custom shapes too.

Download it now from Forum Nokia.
