Nokia Malaysia today has launched the Nokia N8, ‘the best camera smartphone in the world’, according to them.

The N8 is the first Nokia smartphone to feature the new Symbian^3 platform, combining powerful HD imaging capabilities and Dolby Digital Plus surround sound and intuitive social networking features.

The launch was held at MapKL just few hours ago and the most important info, price and availability was revealed.

The RRP Nokia N8 is only RM1690 and will be made available through Nokia stores and retail outlets starting 16 October 2010.
Maxis customers will also be able to enjoy great deals on the N8 with packages ranging from RM999-RM1299 with 12-24 months contract (voice and data plans).

The Nokia N8 introduces a 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and large sensor that rivals those found in compact cameras.

THe Nokia N8 enables access to Web TV with channels like CNN, E!, Paramount and National Grographic. In Malaysia, users can also enjoy local contents from 8TV, TV3, Virtual Malaysia Destination Guide and many more.

Currently the Nokia N8 is only available in 3 colours; Silver, Black and Green.

OK So we have heard a lot about Nokia’s upcoming super smartphone N8, the first device to be powered by Symbian^3 OS.

We have also seen what the 12megapixel camera can do and the 720p HD video recording on the N8.

Nokia Conversation has posted some initial camera samples from the Nokia N8. The photos were taken by a variety of folks involved in the camera’s development. They also claim that the photos were untouched, straight from the camera.

Check out the photos below to see what the 12megapixel Carl Zeiss optics on the Nokia N8 can do.

According to them, more low light photos will be posted soon.
What do you think of the photos taken using the Nokia N8? I think they are superb. Sharp images, vibrant colour, low noise.
