We’ve all heard that it’s coming.

We’ve seen leaked information on whats in the v11 firmware.

Now that it’s revealed, I am dissapointed.

Check out the changelog for N97 firmware V11 below.

USB detection error fix
-PC does not detect N97 or USB charging connection not detected.

-Home screen online/offline widget crash fix
-Fix for “Alphabetical and Number input are mixed in facebook until end key is pressed.
-Widget UI improvement – New facebook widget fixes a problem of Home Screen background visible on soft-key area.
-Browser fixes to improve widgets stability.

MfE related fixes
-Partial fix for Messaging/calendar entry lost.
-Mail for exchange calendar entry synchronization error fix.

UI transition error fixes (Portrait <-> landscape transition, there is a home screen corruption.)
-UI transition (Slowness and bad effects)
-Slow Touch UI response
-Picture of the device lock appears half of the screen when transitioning the UI sometimes
-Landscape: in some cases the soft buttons on touch (right hand) show the Home Screen in background (install
-Photos thumbnail performance and stability improvements
-Device performance deteriorates when lots of content in the device – especially photos
-Partial fix no display backlight illumination when unlocking lock-key – CAP Genius reported already
-New version of Accueweather to improve the “Connection error” situation
-Device reset when browsing with high speed packet access (for Malaysia)
-“Browser soft key UI doesn’t work after putting Chinese character with qwerty keyboard”
-Java fixes (TCK, Pre-install app disappearing, *#7370#*)
-Operator fixes (CMCC, Hutchson and Telefonica, Vodafone)
-Ovi store client now embedded in the core image

Where’s the kinetic scrolling? Where’s the homescreen-like left/right swipe for phonebook? Where’s the video and gallery fix? Wheres the screen lock fix?

lol… Nokia N97 still new in the market. It takes time to be perfect. Looking forward for further versions in future day. Anyway, one thing should be cheer up is it seems like lot of bugs and errors are fixed in this version. :-)

Jason, yeah man, same feeling, Nokia knew these bugs before N97 got released, They just pull up a big marketing events around the world to cover all up.
I updated the N97 Hong Kong Black version. Still the small bugs Nokia even oversee, the Alarm bug for example, this is so minor, it still got off 4 minutes later than programmed.

Mark. Quick question. I bought a black N97 from hong kong. Now I’m in Australia and i cant see an update available. Nokia care says no update available in Hong Kong yet. How did you update???

So need to backup all the data in N97 before proceed to the firmware upgrade? I don’t dare to upgrade my iPhone firmware :(

I bought N97 (Black) 2 weeks back. Everything was workin fine after few days. errors startin popping up.. when i searched online for info, it says to update but when i tried to update it says no updates available yet. BTW, im from Hong Kong. Help!!!!!!!
